Privacy

Your information stays yours.

A direct explanation of what EchoFocus stores, why it needs it, and the control you have.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. When you convert text or a file to speech, we store the resulting audio and, if you're signed in, a record of that conversion (a short summary of what you converted and when) as your history. If you record a meeting, we store the audio recording, the live transcript, and the AI-generated notes.

Why we collect it

Your Google account is used only to identify you so your conversion history and notes can be saved and shown back to you. Uploaded text and files are used only to generate the audio you requested. Meeting audio is used only to produce the live transcript and the notes you asked for.

Recording other people in a meeting

If you capture a meeting using a virtual audio device (so it can hear the other side of a call, not just your microphone), EchoFocus shows a one-time notice before recording starts reminding you that this may capture other people's voices. You are responsible for making sure everyone on the call is aware of, and has agreed to, being recorded, per the rules that apply where you are.

Who else handles your data

We don't sell your data or run ads. A small number of infrastructure providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service: Google Cloud (text-to-speech, image text-extraction, and meeting speech-to-text), Google's Gemini API (turning meeting transcripts into notes), Cloudflare R2 (stores your audio and meeting recordings), and Supabase (stores your account, history, and meeting records). None of these providers use your data for anything beyond processing your request.

Your control over your data

You can delete individual conversions, or your entire history, at any time from the History page. EchoFocus doesn't yet have a separate account-deletion flow or a support contact address - deleting your history is currently the available self-serve option.
